Gymkhana

Today I went to a Gymkhana.

It was really cool....I came first twice and fourth once.

There were five events in total.

Because I don't have my own horse we have to share a horse one between two.

I got to ride my usual horse Telly so that was good...other than the fact hes quite s....l....o....w....!

The first event was rider on the flat.

In this one you walk, trot then canter. You are judge on your riding position and natural ability to ride. You must have your shoulders back, heels down, reins the right length and be able to control your horse well. In this event I came first.

The next event was barrel race.

I was up fist and Telly slowly plodded up to the starting mark. He wouldn't trot. Eventually I got him going but he wouldn't canter not even on the home stretch...I didn't get a place in this one...Waaaaaaa!!!

Next we had Walk Trot Canter Jump.

Fairly straight forward you walk around five metres, trot about twenty going around two corners then jump.

In this I came first as well.

We then did Ins and Outs.

Basically you walk in a twenty metre circle and someone calls out an instruction Eg. Trot!

You then have to do this as fast as you can and if your the last one to follow the instruction your out! Unfortunately Telly wouldn't trot so I didn't get a place.

Lastly was Dismounter cushions!

In this event you've got to dismount take the reins over the horses head, roll the stirrups up then led your horse to a cusion. Each round one rider gets out.

I did quite well in this event.

I was allways the first one to start moving but Telly would not move faster than the s..l..o..w..e..s...t walk EVER!!!

I got to the top four and was leading Telly to the last cusion when another girl with a speady horse started moving and got there before me....Whaaaaaaa!!

So that was my fourth and final ribbon.

Overall it was a great gymkhana! It was COOL!!!

Jewel

This is a photo of my baby kitten (not really any more shes about 10 months now) the first day we got her. SHE IS THE BEST BABY KITTY KAT EVER (But shes fussy!!)!!!!

I also have another cat but I'll post about him later.

Jewel is really cute, she sleeps when she wants to but is also VERY psycho!!!

At night she sleeps on my bed! Tragically she has taken a liking to sleeping as close to my head as possible-on my pillow!!!! This was fine when she was the size of my hand but shes now almost the size of my pillow and this is a fairly large problem when she beats me to bed.....shes very cute, loving and affectionate but shes also the vicious naughtiest kitten IN THE WORLD!!!
If you've read this the hole way through (so far) say "Kitten's are not quite cats" to me at school and I'll tell you an edible plant at Kakepuku!
She has always had a habit of climbing straight up my mums legs-claws out! Like her sleeping on my bed the problem has got worse as shes got bigger-the bigger the cat the bigger the problem if you ask me!!

She has treats every now and then but because shes so fussy she will only eat the six dollar ones!! When she does get a treat she grabs it in her mouth and runs off. If you go within a metre of her she growls like mad. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

She also does this with any moving object...including my head!!!!

Shes very cute, friendly and psycho!!!!!

Monarch Mayhem

Hi Everyone.

Around 5 months ago my Mum foolishly bought a swan plant. in seconds we had HUNDREDS of caterpillers all munching away sadly being eaten by wasps. All our hard work was worth nothing as they were all eaten by wasps before they could turn into chryslises.. :>(

however having entirely given up on them we left them to bunch away, be eaten and die in our lively veggie garden. The plant got barer and barer until one day when I rode my bike past I decided to stop and have a look just to make sure. When I looked to my delight I discovered two very well developed chrysalises, one big and one tiny. I told mum and she sniped a bit of the plant (with the monarch-to-be on it) off and took it inside. When we arrived home on Friday we to our distraught discovered that the Monarch had hatched and our Kitten which has a very bad hobbit of eating anything that moves was in the house!!! we searched but found nothing. after sitting down sadly at our dining room table to plug my phone in to charge i discovered a still monarch drying its wings!!! "MUM!!!" I called. "I'VE FOUND IT!" And sure enough our Monarch was alive-just!!! After 10 minutes I had taught it to sit on my hand and become friends. Because of natures ways we had to let our little critter go so we took her (it was a girl-no spots on her wings) outside. she flew off but then came back and landed on my hand. we took her round the back where some other monarchs were flying and let her go there. she happily flew off starting her "real" life. we now have another two crysalises ready hatch today or tomorrow.

If you have read this the hole way through say "Monarchs aren't Maggots" to me at school and I will tell you ow to make a water collector or some other useful piece of info about kakepuku!

New Zealand Royal Ballet

Last night I went to the Royal NZ Ballet!!
Whilst I was there I saw a Annemarie (I hope I spelt tour name right!) and a couple of other girls I knew from Knighton.
I also saw one other of my friends who I barley ever see so that was a score!!
The dancers were amazing, they were a real inspiration for me to keep dancing!
Though I don't do ballet I do American Jazz-Ballet!)

Hope you all have good photos!!!
